Performance Overview

Mani is a duo performance for the Pointing-at glove and live electronics. The work explores themes of social inequality. The word mani means “hands” in Italian but also echoes “money” in English, raising the question: our future rests in the hands of a few—do you feel safe?

Technical Description

This performance investigates the use of hand gestures to create and manipulate sounds in real time. The gestural vocabulary is constructed around theatrical elements that reinforce the performance’s underlying narrative. This strategy re-establishes cause-and-effect relationships between gesture and sound, situating each movement within a metaphorical framework that guides its interpretation and expressive potential.
